FAQ

General

Teeth grinding or clenching can be a burdensome and painful problem. Symptoms vary amongst patients, but some of the most common are:

  • Teeth that are flattened or chipped
  • Worn tooth enamel
  • Increased pain or sensitivity in your teeth or face
  • Tired or tight jaw muscles, or a locked jaw that you have trouble closing and opening
  • Pain or soreness in the jaw, neck or face
  • Ear ache-like pain
  • Headache
  • Pain or damage from chewing the inside of your cheeks
  • Sleep disruption or low quality sleep

If you suspect you may have untreated problems with teeth grinding, discuss your concerns with your dentist who will work with you to develop a treatment plan.

We recommend every 6 months. This helps catch problems when they’re small and prevent them from growing into larger problems down the road.
